Badge Making

Hmm. It's frustrating, a lot of parts have been delayed due to weather so I can't finish my current drum projects. For now I'm going to make a badge for the single-ply maple.

This takes a while. Good thing I'm not in this for the money.

There it is. Perhaps I'll try the heads on it while I'm waiting for the snare mechanisms.

Steam bent shell continued

Getting a little slowed down by the weather. Looks like I'll be taking the dog sled to the hardware store for some bolts and washers and things.

New Single-Ply Steam Bent Shell

Oh Yeah! Just got this beautiful new blank shell. Solid single-ply maple. Gotta check this thing out. Best of all it comes with packing peanuts!

Brass Shell Snare

This is a new experiment. I'm trying out one of these hammered bass shells I found online. I'll drill it today and use some old lugs to see how it sounds.

Here's a full kit that I built from Keller Vintage Maple Shells. They're six ply maple and poplar with reinforcement rings.

Electronic Drum

I mostly make acoustic drums, but I converted some old junky drums into electronic drums so I can practice without disturbing the neighbors so much. This one uses an old snare shell I built but wasn't satisfied with, a ddrum trigger and Hart Dynamics mesh head.

I've received so many compliments on the sound and look of various drums I've made I decided go public and perhaps even sell a few. This is a Vintage Maple Tom.
