Steam bent shell continued

Getting a little slowed down by the weather. Looks like I'll be taking the dog sled to the hardware store for some bolts and washers and things.

I had to shovel this out just to get to my workshop.

I finished and drilled the shell and cut some perfect bearing edges. They're 45 degrees on the inside with a steep round over on the outer edge. It gives a little more contact with the head to pick up more of the tone of the wood.

I'm using some nice single-point lugs. I use some slightly larger washers backed with a thin rubber pad to reduce the strain on the shell.
